Volunteers manage this woodland using hand tools. Activities include keeping paths clear, crown raising/high pruning, coppicing species such as willow and hazel, clearing brash and making dead hedging. The making of other coppice products are planned.
Contractors are occasionally employed to fell the larger windblown trees or unwanted conifers allowing more light and nutrients for other trees.
Surveys are carried out annually, and from time to time guided tours are given and training events held.
